STEP 1: Regulate Before You React

 

When you're triggered, logic is useless because you cannot out-think dysregulation. 

Your nervous system decides before your mind can explain.

So start here, by experiencing your 'anchored energy'.

Step 2: Separate Sensation From Story

 

When you’re triggered, two things happen:

1. Your body feels a sensation.

2. Your mind creates a story to make it worse.

They are not the same.

These will help you reconnect with your body's wisdom so you can recognise its cues.

 

What sensations do I feel in my body right now?

What story is my mind telling about this?

Is this urgency - or actual danger?

Step 3: Reclaim Leadership and Respond from Your Anchor

 

You don’t need to remove all triggering situations in your life (if that's even possible).

You just need to choose from your anchor.

What would my anchored self do next?

What does 'safe' look like right now?

What is one grounded action I can take?

This is what it feels like to stop abandoning yourself.
